August 28, 2026 - The Power of Grace

Ephesians 3:7-9 NIV
[7] I became a servant of this gospel by the gift of God’s grace given me through the working of his power. [8] Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ, [9] and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
As believers we are given the gift of God's grace. That gift is powerful and is all that we need to be able to let people know about the boundless riches in a way that the mystery will be understood by those whom God has called. He will place us where we need to be to share the gospel and prepare them to receive it according to His will. This promise is what should give us the confidence to share the gospel with everyone we meet. But does it? I know I am weak in that area. The gifts of God's grace that is given to us through Jesus is even more than that. Immeasurably more.
Ephesians 3:14-19 NIV
[14] For this reason I kneel before the Father, [15] from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. [16] I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, [17] so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, [18] may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, [19] and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
We can pray like this for fellow believers but also for those we are witnessing to and the lost that we are concerned for on our lives. My first and most important prayer for my children and my grandchildren is that their names are written in the book of life. Today I pray this also.
I humble myself before the Father and pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen Julia, Mike, Tyler, and BB with power through His Spirit in their inner beings. I pray that Christ would dwell in their hearts through faith, that they would be rooted and established in love through that faith. That they would have power and join together with other believers and come to truly understand how wide, long, high and deep the love of Christ is. That through Him they will know this love that surpasses knowledge and be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
When, how, if or if not they receive the glorious gift you offer, Thy will be done. Amen.
