DANIEL 11:2-35

1 JOHN 3:7-24

PSALM 122:1-9

PROVERBS 29:1

1John 3:18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Actions speak louder than words. As Christians we are to love and when we love it is not just evident in our words but more importantly in our actions. Our actions should reflect truth.

1John 3:19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

How we act in love and without love is a reflection of our hearts. Just as a person who lives in the lies their actions will reflect lies. If we are being distracted by lies we will struggle to rest in His presence. Our hearts will condemn us and it will be evident in our actions. The wonderful thing is that our all-knowing and all-powerful God is greater than our hearts. I know that as a Christian I still struggle with keeping my heart focused on truth and get distracted by the lies of my feelings and desires and I need our great God's help all the time. If we turn to Him and sincerely humble our hearts and ask Him, He can change our hearts. He can overcome the lies with His Truth. But we need to have confidence in Him when we ask and be willing to trust in Him. We will know that we have done that when we are living in love with a heart that does not condemn us because we are keeping his commands and doing what pleases Him. The first step is believing in Jesus Christ. If you don't understand or relate to what I am saying then perhaps you needs to take a closer look at the Truth. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is all loving and He loves you. He wants a relationship with you. Put your faith in Him and ask Him to come into your heart. That is when our heart changes. That is how we are able to live in Him and we will know He lives in us because we will see the evidence of the Spirit of God who lives in us. The Spirit is who will convict us and lead us in knowing, understanding and living in Truth. Truth is the only way we can truly love.
