EXODUS 32:1-34:35
Exodus 32:22 “Don’t get so upset, my lord,” Aaron replied. “You yourself know how evil these people are. 23 They said to me, ‘Make us gods who will lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.’ 24 So I told them, ‘Whoever has gold jewelry, take it off.’ When they brought it to me, I simply threw it into the fire—and out came this calf!”
'“You yourself know how evil these people are. 23 They said to me,...'
Sounds familiar.
The serpent said...
That woman you gave me said...
Am I my brother's keeper?
Exodus 33:16 How will anyone know that you look favorably on me—on me and on your people—if you don’t go with us? For your presence among us sets your people and me apart from all other people on the earth.”
We are blessed to have God always with us but do we always walk with Him. Moses knew that God's presence with them set them apart and it was visible to others. We have God with us all the time which means we are set apart but the only way that people can notice it is if we are staying with Him.
Exodus 34:29 When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasn’t aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the Lord.
The closer we walk with Jesus the more clearly people will see Jesus. It will be like His light. His glory. His presence radiates from us and other people will be able to see it. And we should not veil it but instead should do all we can to make it shine brighter.
