Numbers 3:12 “I have taken the Levites from among the Israelites in place of the first male offspring of every Israelite woman. The Levites are mine, 13 for all the firstborn are mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set apart for myself every firstborn in Israel, whether human or animal. They are to be mine. I am the Lord.”

I am still amazed that this time through is the first time that I am seeing this now a second time. I didn't realize that the blood on the door posts was not just protection of the first-born males but also a setting apart of all the first-born males. He not only set them apart but He provided a substitute for them. Instead of every first-born male being taken from their family and put in service to the Lord He allowed an entire family/tribe to serve as a substitute. I see a little Jesus in all this. In out small group "The Table" we were talking about Passover and we are going to try to have a Seder meal on the Monday during Passover. I pray God provides us all that we need to make it happen.
