EXODUS 20:1-22:15

Exodus 20:24 “Build for me an altar made of earth, and offer your sacrifices to me—your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats, and your cattle. Build my altar wherever I cause my name to be remembered, and I will come to you and bless you.

"Build my altar wherever I cause my name to be remembered, and I will come to you and bless you." If only we did that now. I think I would be tripping over mounds of earth and rocks all the time lol. We no longer need to make burned offerings because Jesus offered Himself in place of all those offerings. But I think that the idea of having a physical reminder of the ways that have cause God's named to be remembered by us is a blessing. Also, when you read this, it explains all the times we read after this that so and so built and alter and called God.... God who provides, God Almighty, I Am, God Who Sees Me and on and on. There are so many names of God that we can know Him by. I have practiced the exercise of reading through a list of the names of God and thinking of all the ways He has revealed Himself in those ways to me. It is a blessing because when we take the time to remember those things He comes and blesses us.
