EXODUS 22:16-24:18

Exodus 23:28 I will send terror ahead of you to drive out the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites. 29 But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals would multiply and threaten you. 30 I will drive them out a little at a time until your population has increased enough to take possession of the land.

As I read this I thought the Israelites were so lucky that God not only told them what He was going to do, but he told them it would not be right away and why it wouldn't be. This is a good reminder to us to remember that God knows the big picture. So, when things don't happen when we think they should we need remember that it might not be the right timing. Maybe if it happens when we want it to the end result would desolate something or someone that we need or love or maybe it would cause us more problems or harm. I am sure that the Israelites will have times when they feel like nothing is happening while they wait for God to drive out their enemies and take them into the promised land but God is always working.
