2 Kings 6:15-17 NIV

[15] When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked. [16] “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” [17] And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Oh, how often we worry and fret about things just because we can only see that is going on in this world. There is always so much more going on in the spiritual realm that we will likely never see. Not only was the servant shown the army of the Lord but it is recorded here so that we might see that as well. There is a spiritual battle going on at all times and that bleeds over into the physical world, but there is nothing in in either realm that God does not have power over.

When we are feeling frightened, anxious, lost or any other troublesome emotion we should turn our eyes to Jesus. Just as Peter was able to walk on water as long as he kept his eye on Jesus, we can walk on the turbulent waters of this world without worry. This is how we fight our battles. We trust Jesus to do it for us.

Even when we can't see what it is He is doing we can be sure that He is at work.
