October 14, 2026 -Prophecy Fulfilled
He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
“They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.””
Hebrews 1:10-12 NIV
When you read this chapter, it can feel difficult to read because it is a reference to the Old Testament. This on in particular is Psalm 102 25-27. It is referring back to Old Testament scripture to show it as a prophetic word. There are many Psalms that in hindsight are prophetic. We can see it now because Jesus has come and we have the fullness of scripture to take it all in context. We can see here that Jesus created all things. Jesus is eternal. He is faithful and unchanging.
Hebrews 1:1-2 NIV
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.
These prophetic Old Testament scriptures are to show us how God spoke through the prophets and that the entire Old Testament points us to Jesus. We have Jesus who spoke directly to the Apostles while he was here on earth and continues to speak to them through the Holy Spirit to inspire the words in the bible. We have the complete word of God to turn to. And seeing the consistency and the fulfillment of the Old Testament in the New Testament in Jesus.
