October 23, 2026 -A Look Back Me & Melchizedek
When I read this chapter in Hebrews, I am always grateful for the expansion on the priest Melchizedek. He is only mentioned 2 other times in the bible and not much is said. Melchizedek first appears in Genesis 14:18-20, where he is described as the king of Salem and priest of God Most High, who blesses Abraham and receives a tithe from him. This would be the first "Tithe" given. He is mentioned once in Psalm 110:4, which refers to a priesthood “according to the order of Melchizedek.” Is a messianic Psalm talking about Jesus. The remaining eight mentions are found in the Book of Hebrews (Hebrews 5:6, 5:10, 6:20, 7:1, 7:10, 7:15, 7:17, 7:21), where the priesthood is elaborated on and draws parallels to Jesus Christ as a high priest according to Melchizedek’s order. I have written on these passages in the past and went back into the is blog and my old one and found previous posts to share. It was interesting for me to read things that I had written in the past. I have written for so many years it is like reading something new written by someone else. Lol. I also had used different resources and shared them with the different posts.
