October 8, 2026 - Calm, Quieted, Contentment

“My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content.”
Psalms 131:1-2 NIV
There are many things that make no sense in our human understanding.
Things that I believe are true because it's in the bible even if I can't understand it.
I don't know how creation worked. I don't understand how we can have free will and God be sovereign. I don't understand how God can be in all places and all times. Just to name a few.
They are all things that are great matters that are too wonderful for me. If I pridefully try to make sense of things I will never succeed. Concerning myself with these things that are too wonderful would be overwhelming.
But trusting in God who is capable of creating everything. Who is also all powerful and in control of all things in all space and time. Instead of being overwhelming it is what gives me peace and contentment.
May you also rest in calm quieted contentment of trusting in God who is above and beyond anything you can understand,

Love that phrase “too wonderful for me” what a beautiful way to look at things that were not meant to fully understand
