April 1, 2026 - Make Up Your Mind Ahead Of Time

Luke 21:14-15 NIV
[14] But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. [15] For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
I have recently read in a book called "What Color is Your Parachute?" about how to find your life mission. The first step is to know God. Know who He is and recognize Him in the world around you. Then it is to make day to day decisions that make the world a better place. Then to identify your special gifts and talents. The things that you get lost in. I think the first step is the secret to a lot of things. Go back to the omnis and the fact that God is Holy & Sovereign (numerus posts this month). When we know God that way then we have no need to worry about anything. This includes times where we may be put on the spot about our faith. He can and will give you the words to speak when needed. Even under persecution if your faith is secured in who He is you can trust that He will give you the words to speak. Even if you don't have extensive biblical knowledge when you need to share the gospel with someone, He will give you the words. But you have to be willing to speak. The secret to being ready and willing without worry is to do as Jesus says in v14. "But make up your mind not to worry beforehand". Once you accept God for all that He is and yourself for all that you are not a decision has to be made. Not just do I believe in Him, but do I believe Him? If you believe Him then you are deciding ahead of time that He who is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient and omnibenevolent can do anything that is necessary to accomplish what is best. And whatever is best in His eyes is what is best for me.
