1 Corinthians 2:1-5 NIV

[1] And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. [2] For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. [3] I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. [4] My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, [5] so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

Listen to Paul. Paul who before knowing Jesus was one of the Jewish leaders who would have been considered learned. Someone looked up. Proud and powerful enough to persecute Christians. But now that He is in Christ, he recognizes that nothing that he says or does that has any spiritual value comes from himself. It came from the Spirit's power within him. That is how we are to be. I say the same thing. Anything that I share here does not come from some knowledge that I have. Most of the time I start with a thought and what ends up coming out is much more than that one thought. I am frequently surprised by the direction things go. If anyone reads this and it does anything to help draw them closer to God, then it is simply God answering my daily prayer. Each day when I wake I thank God for a new day and ask that something I do or say would lead myself and others closer to Him.

I pray that the Power of the Spirit of God is working in your life as well and that as you read this you come to trust in Him a little bit more and the desire to know Him grows stronger

1 Corinthians 2:9-11 NIV

[9] However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— [10] these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. [11] For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

May the Lord give you eyes to see and ears to hear all that He is revealing to you by His Spirit. Because the Spirit of God that lives in you knows the thoughts of God. Just as it is not by any human wisdom that we can write a spiritual truth about God, so is it that no human eye or ear can understand the truths of God. Only the Spirit of God knows God. All we can do is rejoice and give thanks that He chooses to share His knowledge with us.
