John 9:25 NIV
[25] He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”
That is a testimony. To share your testimony you don't have to have all the answers. |All you need to do is tell people what Jesus did for you. The rest is up to God. There will be those who will have a heart like soft soil and those who will have hearts like rocky ground and everything in between. It is not up to you to determine if the person is "ready" to hear your testimony it is just your place to tell it. Especially when someone asks a question. Why are you different? Why do you keep walking out of the room when we start dishing the dirt? Why don't you want to go to the night club with us? Or when you did go out with your friends, Why didn't you go home with that girl/guy? When you invite Jesus into your life it is a life changing experience and people will notice. You may start off sharing your testimony just when someone asks. But your excitement for Jesus will hopefully cause you to want to go around telling everyone you know. Even strangers. You never know how God will use your testimony in the lives of the people you speak to. So don't hold back your story. Don't make excuses to wait. It doesn't have to be long or complicated. It may be different for each situation or question.
Q. Why are you different.
A. All I know is that I gave my life to Jesus and the more I learn about Him the more my heart and mind want to be like Him.
Q. Why do you keep walking out of the room when we start dishing the dirt?
A. Jesus has changed my heart, and I can't be part of gossip any longer because I would rather love people like Jesus loves them.
Q. Why don't you want to go to the night club with us?
A. Since I met Jesus, I have more fun spending time with him and learning about Him. I no longer have a need to go out and party.
Q. Why didn't you go home with that girl/guy?
A. I have experienced a love that is greater than anything on this earth when I learned how much Jesus loves me. I want to respect others and honor Jesus in all areas of my life.
Every one of these statements is a testimony. You don't need to preach a sermon or try to convince someone to believe. Just tell them what Jesus has done for you. How He has changed you. There is power in a testimony because Jesus is in it.
