EZEKIEL 20:1-22:16



Ezekiel 20:9 But for the sake of my name, I brought them out of Egypt. I did it to keep my name from being profaned in the eyes of the nations among whom they lived and in whose sight I had revealed myself to the Israelites.


Have you ever thought wow God really protected me from my bad choices in some situation. Have you ever thought about why? I have. I figure that God has a plan and part of that plan must mean that I needed to be protected from what I said or did even though it was not in line with God's word. But now God shows me that I don't know what I think I know. He is so much bigger than that. It could be that it's not about protecting me but it's about protecting His name. It could be that in my sinful state if I had said or done something and people there would have known I was a Christian then it would have made Him look bad. Just like we should not look at miracles and blessings as something that is done for us but as something that is to glorify God's name, we should not look at our salvation and protection as something for us. We need to remember it's really all about God and glorifying Him!

It really is all about God and glorifying His name. Nothing we do good or bad will stop His purposes from coming about. But I venture to believe it is about us as well. If not, then why would He become the sacrifice to make a way for us to be with Him. It is right and good to pay all honor and glory to Him who created us. But we cannot forget love. It is a personal relationship that He seeks to have with us. It’s not all about us, it is all about His love for us. His protection, provision, grace, mercy, forgiveness, and love should only be used to glorify His name in all the e…
