JOB 34:1-36:33
2 CORINTHIANS 4:1-12
PSALM 44:1-8
PROVERBS 22:10-12
Job 36:2 “Bear with me a little longer and I will show you
that there is more to be said in God’s behalf.
How arrogant to think that God needs Elihu to speak on His behalf. I think it is easy to think we are doing the right thing and saying the right thing based on what we think. Based on our understanding of who God is. Even though we have the bible and the life and teachings of Jesus I don't think we can possibly understand all of who God is. But I am sure that He doesn't need me to speak on His behalf. There are times that I feel like I am being lead in a certain direction to say or do something but usually I don't say God said or God told me. I will say that I had a strong or unexpected urge or prompt to say or do something because I can't really KNOW that it is God prompting me. There are times that I have said that I believe God is saying or doing something because it was so strong and outside what I would think and it fell in line with God's word, but I wonder if I am being just like Elihu when I do that. I am grateful that God has proven that He is loving and forgiving through Jesus.
Job 36:26 How great is God—beyond our understanding!
The number of his years is past finding out.
Elihu knows that God is beyond our understanding as well, but he still speaks like he understands God better than Job or any of Job's other friends. The pride of youth maybe?
