August 7, 2026 - Jesus Makes Me Clean

2 Corinthians 7:1 NIV
[1] Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
This makes me think of all the sins that God has convicted me of over the years. There are still some that I fall back into, but it's my desire to purify myself out of reverence to God. For example, I have had my feelings hurt in the past and been upset by how someone misrepresents me or accuses me of things that are untrue. I would get equally as hurt as I did this time, but God never used any of those instances to show me my sin in those situations. But this time He did. (read yesterday's blog if you don't know what I am talking about) I believe that our great God who knows us and understands us better than we know or understand ourselves, knows exactly when we are ready to recognize things in our lives that we need to remove from our lives. I am grateful that I can trust Him to know how to handle every situation that I will find myself in and He will cleanse me from all unrighteousness and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
