Leviticus 19:9-10 NIV
[9] “ ‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. [10] Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God.
The Israelites lived on what they had after they gave a tenth to God AND leaving a portion for those in need. People who had less than they did. Just as Ruth was able to provide for herself and Naomi because of Boaz. If we would all live according to our means or even slightly below giving to those in need and giving to the church would be easier. But instead we have a tendency to not only use everything we have but live even beyond our means. This is one practice that everyone would benefit from. I know I would like to live by it, but it is so hard to do.

What a world it would be if this was actually in practice. Just imagine.
