In Genesis 22, when God calls Abraham, his response comes before the instruction: “Here I am.”

He doesn’t ask for details or reassurance. He offers presence—listening, available, and willing.

What strikes me is that Abraham says “Here I am” to both God and Isaac. Even in the moment of testing, he remains present. Faith doesn’t pull him away; it draws him closer.

This challenges me. I often want clarity before surrender. Abraham shows us that faith begins simply by showing up.

Maybe that is the invitation for us today—to answer God’s call with openness before we know the outcome.

Here I am.
