PSALM 119

Psalm 119:9 How can a young person stay on the path of purity?

    By living according to your word.

Purity is a path that is not considered any value in the world today. Our young people are taught that purity is not a moral worth keeping. I pray that the time we spend talking about the truth of God's word in youth group next year changes that idea in the hearts and minds of our young people.

Psalm 119:11 I have hidden your word in my heart

    that I might not sin against you.

Even when the heart wants to stay on the right path, as humans we will always struggle with staying on it. I pray that after they learn the truth our young people will want to live according to it. And the only way to stay on that path is to keep the word of God in their hearts.

Psalm 119:21 You rebuke the arrogant, who are accursed,

    those who stray from your commands.

There is so much arrogance in the opinions of the world today. Our young people are bombarded with lies that tell them sin is okay and even good. It is done with such bold, arrogant confidence that it can convince our young people to stray from the word of God. I pray that they will not have to suffer the consequences of sin from straying from the Lord's commands.

Psalm 119:24 Your statutes are my delight;

    they are my counselors.

That they would allow the word of God to be their counselor and guide not social media, TV, movies and the evil of the world.

Psalm 119:59 I have considered my ways

    and have turned my steps to your statutes.

May they consider Your ways lord and turn their steps toward You and following Your statues!
