1 Corinthians 5:2-3 NIV

[2] And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? [3] For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13 NIV

[9] I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— [10] not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. [11] But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. [12] What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? [13] God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”

Among the body of Christ, we should judge each other. We are to hold each other to the standard set before us in scripture. Being that we are one body when any one of us is acting out in sinful ways, it should break our hearts. We should do all we can to bring our brother or sister back in line with Christ. It should be done with honesty and love. But if that person refuses to turn from their sin, they should be removed from fellowship. If someone is sinning and they are representing themselves as a part of the church what kind of message does that give to the lost? If they are still a slave to sin then is their heart right? I don't think so. Once the person is removed from fellowship I believe we should try to help them recognize their sin and try to help them to turn from it so they can be restored. However, if they refuse how can they claim to be a follower of Jesus? I am grateful to have brothers and sisters in Christ who if they see me falling into sinful habits would speak truth to me. I want them to because I don't want to do what I ought not do. Brothers and sisters please bring my sinfulness to my attention with honesty and love and help me to live a life that is pleasing to God. That is what my hearts greatest desire is. There is no sinful thing in this world that is worth holding onto in light of the value of living for Christ. Lord help me to live like I mean it.
