ISAIAH 44:6-48:11

Isaiah 45:9 “Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker,

those who are nothing but potsherds

among the potsherds on the ground.

Does the clay say to the potter,

    ‘What are you making?’

Does your work say,

    ‘The potter has no hands’?

Again we see the creation questioning the creator (Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker,) but it goes back to its initial substance (Does the clay say to the potter,). The clay can't tell the potter how to use it. What to form it into. That is like us saying to God how do you want to use me? I don't want to serve you in that way. (‘What are you making?’) You don't have control over my life. I am going to do what I want. (‘The potter has no hands’?) Then we wonder why we struggle and are broken. (those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground.) All the things we have gone through in life have been used to mold us into the person we are to prepare us to serve as the creator intended. We should be looking to the creator to know how we are to serve. Not to our own self-interest or what we like or don't like.
