ISAIAH 48:12-52:12
Isaiah 48:17 This is what the Lord says—
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
“I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you what is best for you,
who directs you in the way you should go.
18 If only you had paid attention to my commands,
your peace would have been like a river,
your well-being like the waves of the sea.
Ah, the secret to peace. Peace like a river. To know that the Lord is our Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, Lord our God who teaches us what is best for us. He is the one who directs us and the way we should go. But knowing it is not enough we must pay attention to His commands, His teachings. We need to live in the truth of who the Lord is. Then we will have peace like a river and well-being like the waves of the sea.
“Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me. “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled…
