PSALM 1-2

PSALM 10

PSALM 33

PSALM 71

PSALM 91

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the one

who does not walk in step with the wicked

or stand in the way that sinners take

or sit in the company of mockers,

but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,

and who meditates on his law day and night.

That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,

which yields its fruit in season

and whose leaf does not wither—

    whatever they do prospers.

Compare being like the tree, to the deer of a couple of days ago. The person who is like this tree is not just going to the stream of living water when they are dehydrated or in distress, but they are planted there. They are nourished by the word of God continuously. Always connected to the source. Meditating on it day and night. Allow the truths of scripture to permeate your soul and influence who you are and how you live. Keep it always before you. Have you ever had an ear worm? It's that song that gets stuck in your head that you can't get rid of. Mediate on the word of God "day and night" so that your ear worms become songs of scripture and worship. A couple of mine are "Praise God from whom all blessing flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost." "Great is the Lord He is holy and just by His power I trust in His love. Great is the Lord He is faithful and true by His mercy He proves He is love. Great are you Lord and worthy of glory. Great are you Lord and worthy of praise." "Jesus, You're my Master and my King. Jesus, You're my Lord my everything. Jesus, it's your blood that made me clean. Hallelujah, Hallelujah!" When I get other ear worms stuck in my head I like to get rid of them by singing songs that I want to have in my head. The result of being planted by the stream means you are fruitful in season. Which to me means you come to recognize God working in the world around you and you are able to respond in His timing and according to His call for you to go to work for Him. Also, when God generates a hunger in someone for the truth of who He is people can look at you and your life and know that you are the tree to come to because your fruit is always ready when it needs to be. When Jesus was hungry and went to the fig tree that did not have any fruit, He cursed it, and it withered overnight. I just watched this scene in The Chosen season 5 and here is what I learned. It was not the season for figs but even out of season when a tree in in leaf it will have signs of the fruit. When we are being like the tree we will be in leaf and there will be evidence of the fruit in our life even when it is not grown. Jesus was able to walk up to that tree and see that it was not going to produce figs because there was no sign of the fruit budding. When we are like this tree people can look at us and see signs of the fruit. Even if they don't know what they are looking at. And when we are in season and our fruit is ripe God will use it to feed the hungry and save the lost, care for the poor and needy, protect the innocent, encourage the brokenhearted and whatever else He has planned for us. Also, you will never burn out in your service to the Lord. In fact, if you are feeling burn out it is more likely it's because you have become the panting deer. Get back to being the tree and you will have all you need to prosper in your work for the Lord.
