2 Chronicles 24 Joash was seven years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem forty years. His mother’s name was Zibiah; she was from Beersheba. 2 Joash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all the years of Jehoiada the priest. 3 Jehoiada chose two wives for him, and he had sons and daughters.
This child was able to do right in the eyes of the Lord because he had the right council. Jehoiada the priest guided him. When I think back to other kings many times it says that a particular person become king, and he did evil just as his father had done. Or when a godly father dies the son seeks council from un-godly people which results in doing evil in God's eyes. We can learn of the importance of seeking the right kind of council. And we also need to remember that when someone comes to us for council, we need to always give clear biblical council no matter what the world says.
The bible say's so much about seeking godly council. There are too many to list them all but below are a few.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 13:20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
Proverbs 15:22 Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.
Proverbs 19:20-21 Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
Ecclesiastes 4:13 Better was a poor and wise youth than an old and foolish king who no longer knew how to take advice.
James 3:17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

James 3:17 is my favorite from the ones you listed above.
Apparently God wanted me to read those scriptures, because as I read them, I had tears in my eyes.
Thank you for this post today. Thank you God for guiding Toni to be faithful in this blog that I can turn to and giving her the words to write.
We as humans, never know what the person on the other side of this blog may need, but you do and today you hit the nail on the head.
Thank you for this beautiful reminder to seek godly council when this world decides to draw me into thoughts, movements, and discouragement of my flesh.
