Romans 5:10 NIV
[10] For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
When we talk about the good news. We can't stop at the crucifixion. The good news is even better because of the resurrection.
Romans 5:13-14 NIV
[13] To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. [14] Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
Without the law we would not understand sin. Sin had been present since Adam. Technically so has the law. The first law was don't eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam and Eve knew they were breaking the law when they ate. God has given the law after law to reveal the depth of sin in our lives.
2 Kings 24:3 NIV
[3] Surely these things happened to Judah according to the Lord’s command, in order to remove them from his presence because of the sins of Manasseh and all he had done,
The kings of Israel sinned over and over again. They broke law after law because of the sin that was handed down through Adam.
Romans 5:15 NIV
[15] But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
But we can REJOICE because just as Adam's sin condemned the world the righteousness of Christ sets us free.
