Psalms 69:30-32 NIV

[30] I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. [31] This will please the Lord more than an ox, more than a bull with its horns and hooves. [32] The poor will see and be glad— you who seek God, may your hearts live!

David starts off crying out to God about all the troubles he is experiencing. David understood the omnis of God. He knew that He is Omniscient, so He already knows all of David's thoughts and feelings. There is no point in holding them back.

He also knew that God is Omnipotent. He is in control even in difficult times. That is why he always cried out to Him for help and trusted Him even when things were bad.

God is Omnipresent. David writes in Psalm 139:7-10 "Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,"

He knows that he is never alone because God is always with him.

He ends many of his Psalms of lament including this one praising God. In this psalm he also speaks to his understanding of God's desire for a sacrificed heart being more important than a sacrificed animal.

He knows that God is Omnibenevolent. His loving goodness is why He created the sacrificial system. Not because the sacrifice of an animal can save them but because the sacrifice of Jesus will save them. God is all loving and all good and David knew that He would rather have a sacrifice of praise than a sacrifice of an animal.

Because He believes in all that God is (Omnis) he is able to glorify Him with thanksgiving even when things are difficult. When we live our lives acting on the belief of who God is, our life becomes a statement to the lost. "The poor will see and be glad" and God can use that to turn hearts to seek Him and those who seek Him will live.

We can do the same. The more we come to know, understand and believe in the character of God the more our lives will reflect that. Especially in times of difficulty. The more our lives reflect that the more people will see Him through us and seek after God themselves. Then we can rejoice because our difficulties can give others life. There is power in praise.
