Luke 5:16 NIV
[16] But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
I don't think Jesus had to be alone to pray and have conversation with the Father. We see over and over that Jesus speaks to the Father and He says things to the disciples that are a result of the Father speaking to Him. I think that in His humanity He needed time to rest. Time to be alone. Where He could pray, reflect and sit in the quiet restoring presence of the Father. This is an important reminder to me at this time in my life. I am a busy person with very little down time, and I just took on another big commitment. I am confident that God has placed this in my life so I know I will be able to do it, but this reminds me that even Jesus needed to rest and seek refreshment in quiet intimate time with the Father. And if Jesus would withdraw and seek alone time with God, I need it even more. I must make time to rest in the Lord, and I need You Lord to help me. Help me to remember. Help me to do it. Help me to make the most of that time with you. May I find rest in your presence and be restored on a regular basis. Please and thank you. Amen
