PSALM 73-74

Psalm 50:1 The Mighty One, God, the Lord,

    speaks and summons the earth

    from the rising of the sun to where it sets.

The Psalms really stress how great God really is. How all things are in His hands.

Psalm 50:9 I have no need of a bull from your stall

    or of goats from your pens,

10 for every animal of the forest is mine,

    and the cattle on a thousand hills.

11 I know every bird in the mountains,

    and the insects in the fields are mine.

And being that all things are His there is nothing that we can offer to Him. It's all His anyway. He is not saying that we should not offer up things to Him, but the condition of our hearts is where the value is found.

If it all belongs to Him then we should not hold onto any of it. Our bodies, our time, our possessions, our children, our health is all from Him. It is all in His hands so when we hold them it should be with open hands.
