2 Chronicles 3:3 The foundation Solomon laid for building the temple of God was sixty cubits long and twenty cubits wide (using the cubit of the old standard).

We just studied the parable of the wise and foolish builders in Matthew 7:24-29 in small group last night. The wise builder builds his house (life) on the rock (Word of God) and foolish one on the sand (ways of the world). A strong foundation is built on Jesus and the word of God. When I read today's reading, I was curious about how big the foundation of the temple was. It is about 90 feet long and 30 feet wide. The size and strength of our foundation is proportionate to the time that we spend in the word of God, in the fellowship of God's people and in His presence through worship, prayer and meditation. The size of our foundation determines the size of our house. What size life do you want to live for Christ? How big do you want your house to be? The more you want to live for Christ the bigger you need to build that foundation. The quality of our foundation determines what that house can withstand. A life built on the word of God will be able to withstand the storms of this world. The temple was built to the size that God directed using all the finest materials and best craftsmen. Ask God what size house is He is calling you to build? Is the foundation of that house (life) being built of the finest materials (The Word of God) by the finest workmen (study, prayer, meditation & worship)? Build that foundation according to the size of the life that God wants you to live.
