Proverbs 12:13 Evildoers are trapped by their sinful talk,

    and so the innocent escape trouble.

14 From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things,

    and the work of their hands brings them reward.

Proverbs 13:3 Those who guard their lips preserve their lives,

    but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.

How easy it is to let our lips get us into trouble. But our lips will also bring healing and peace. I just had a conversation with a good friend who has had many people speak rash difficult and hurtful words at her, or about her, or around her lately. It is unnatural how much it has happened. All I can say is that she is divinely gifted at being able to remain calm and not respond with rash, sinful talk. She strives to have the fruit of her lips be filled with good things and truth. In doing so it has proven to bring reward. To her as well as those she is speaking to. In guarding her lips she has been able to preserve the relationships that she has with others and has not allowed them to come to ruin which is what would have happen had she spoke rashly and with sinful talk. We reap what we sow and she sows truth in love. I am so blessed to be her friend!
