EZEKIEL 31:1-32:32
HEBREWS 12:14-29
PSALM 113:1-114:8
PROVERBS 27:18-20
Hebrews 12:28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”
What is acceptable worship? That which is done with reverence and awe. Imagine God the consuming fire consuming every evil from the world including our lives. Consuming all our sickness, sadness and pain. Consuming all envy, greed and strife. Consuming all darkness with the light of His fire like a blazing sun. Or better yet as the blazing Son! That is only one aspect of God that is worthy of reverence and awe. The things about God that are awesome and deserve our reverence are limitless. It leads me to sing His praises.
Psalm 113:3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
19 As water reflects the face,
so one’s life reflects the heart.
When I read Psalms I am often reminded of songs. here is today's
Proverbs 27:19 As water reflects the face,
so one’s life reflects the heart.
What is in our hearts will be reflected in our lives. If our hearts are filled with reverent and awe filled worship, we will be a witness for Christ as we go about our everyday lives. Ask yourself, when people look at me what do they see? I pray that I am reflecting Jesus and His awesomeness. I pray that the consuming fire that is the Lord will burn in my heart and consume all that is not pleasing to Him and shine like the son into this dark world.
