EZEKIEL 37:1-38:23
JAMES 1:19-2:17
PSALM 117:1-2
PROVERBS 28:1
James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.
We are not saved by our works but if we are not producing fruit that is evident in how we follow the True Word of God and live by it, then we need to question our salvation. Salvation comes from a surrender of your will to the will of God and in doing so the Truth of God's Word will instruct you and convict you and you will respond in obedience to the word.
James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
You can be a faithfully religious person but if you are not surrendered to Christ all those rituals and works are nothing. Without surrender to Christ you will not be able to live in the Truth of God's Word and you will be polluted by the world.
