JEREMIAH 26:1-27:22

2 THESSALONIANS 3:1-18

PSALM 85:1-13

PROVERBS 25:16

2Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”

We started our new small group tonight "Come to the Table" that includes enjoying a dinner together and bible study. We come to the table to FEAST on the word. Because we are Friends, Exploring and Applying Scripture Together. I talked with one of our friends and she was saying that we need to prioritize bible study. In this busy world that is full of distractions keeping God first is hard work sometimes. Maybe we should use this as our accountability scripture.

2Thessalonians 3:11 We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies. 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat. 13 And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.

14 Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed. 15 Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer.

We had such a great night of encouraging one another and sharing our testimonies about what God has done in our lives. It was so refreshing. It made me think that this is what it might have been like for the early church. We had a table full of people who are not willing to be idle. This was a busy night of fellowship, glorifying God and studying the word. It was so exciting to sit around the table and hear story after story of all the good things that God has set us up for us to do. No one was bragging about their work but giving God the glory for what He did. These are the kinds of people I want to spend my time with. Those who are not willing to follow these teachings are people that we are not supposed to spend time with but we are to convict them of their lack of obedience and work for the Lord.

So listen up my fellow FEASTers I would like you to hold me accountable to stay busy doing the work and obeying God's word. If I get lazy call me out. If do something that goes against the teaching of Jesus, call me out and I will do the same for you.
