1Timothy 2:1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Pray "for all people". Those who we may be tempted to criticize and look down upon (see yesterday's post). Those who have hurt or done us wrong. Those we like. Those we don't like. And in being this close to a presidential election we need to remember "all those in authority". I have been remined a few different ways lately that God places all those in authority and will use all things to accomplish His purpose. So, the fact that I know that I need to vote but am not comfortable with either choice of candidates was making me question what to do. But I know that all I can do is vote for who I believe is the best options out of the choices and I have and PRAY! And after the election whoever wins my candidate or not I must continue to pray because God is ultimately in control. As long as I am trusting God and praying for all people I will be able to live peacefully and quietly in all godliness and holiness. I will be able to rest in His peace because as I pray I am surrendering my will to Him. Lord Thy will be done in this nation.
