JEREMIAH 49:23-50:46
TITUS 1:1-16
PSALM 97:1-98:9
PROVERBS 26:13-16
Titus 1:1 Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness— 2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, 3 and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,
I have been praying for direction for our women's conference This is Us that is usually held in January and I got an answer with confirmation in many ways today. This is Us...Living in Truth. We are being called to talk about living in the truth of God. The truth that leads to godliness, the hope of eternal life that God promised before the beginning of time. There are lots of lies out there but God does not lie and we are given opportunity to share that truth. And as God's elect we will live out that truth.
Titus 1:10 For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group. 11 They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach—and that for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.” 13 This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith 14 and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth. 15 To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. 16 They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
If we are not living out those truths we are deceivers. I have been leaning this way on posts talking about leaders who stray from preaching the truth just yesterday. Don't be deceived by those who are teaching and preaching their own ideas regardless of the word of God. The truth of God. They preach for their own dishonest gain. Anyone whose actions deny God are disobedient and are not fit for ministry.
n fact one of the other confirmations of the day takes this a bit further. Denise shared her daily reading from Spurgeon today. Living in truth is evidence of salvation. Without it we should question our salvation.
SPURGEON.. Morning, October 25
For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us forever. - 2 John 1:2
Once the truth of God enters the human heart and takes control of the whole person, no human or demonic power can drive it out! We don’t welcome the truth as a guest—we embrace it as the master of the house. If this is not the way you believe, you are not truly a Christian. Those who feel the living power of the gospel and know the strength of the Holy Spirit as He opens, applies, and seals the Word would rather be torn to pieces than abandon the gospel of their salvation. What a treasure trove of mercies is wrapped up in the assurance that the truth will stay with us forever! It will be our strength in life, our comfort in death, our song in resurrection, and our eternal glory! This is the privilege of every Christian, and without it, our faith would be worthless. Some truths we outgrow and leave behind because they are elementary, meant for beginners. But divine truth is different—it’s both sweet nourishment for spiritual infants and hearty sustenance for mature believers. The truth that we are sinners humbles us and keeps us watchful. The greater truth that whoever believes in the Lord Jesus is saved remains our constant hope and joy. Far from loosening our grip on the doctrines of grace, our experience in life only strengthens our hold on them. The more we walk with Christ, the stronger and more numerous our reasons for believing become, and we can expect this to continue until, in death, we embrace the Savior. Wherever this love for the truth is found, we are bound to show our love. Our hearts should reach as far as God’s electing grace. If we find error mixed with truth, let us confront the error but still love our brothers and sisters for the truth they hold. Above all, let us love and spread the ourselves!
God's word is the Truth.
Jesus is the Way the TRUTH and the Life.
To live in Jesus we must walk with Him according to the Word of God and embrace it as the master of our lives.

Titus 1
Appointing Elders Who Love What Is Good
5 The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint[a] elders in every town, as I directed you. 6 An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient. 7 Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless—not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain.8 Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled,upright, holy and disciplined. 9 He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others…
