JEREMIAH 12:1-14:10

1 THESSALONIANS 1:1-2:8

PSALM 79:1-13

PROVERBS 24:30-34

1 Thessalonians 1:4 For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.

When I pray for those I love to give their lives to Christ this is what I am praying for. For the gospel to come to them not just with understanding of words but with the power of the Holy Spirit that leads to deep conviction.

1 Thessalonians 1:6 You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia.

I pray that they would live out their faith with joy given by the Holy Spirit according to the example set by the Apostles as documented in the bible. Even in, or should I say especially in the face of suffering. I see that to also include the suffering that comes from criticism and persecution for their faith. I also pray that I too would live like that and be a model to all believers.

1 Thessalonians 1:8 The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it,

May out faith become known everywhere!
