September 14, 2026 - Power of the Holy Spirit
1 Thessalonians 1:4-5 NIV
[4] For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, [5] because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake.
When someone is changed in a way that the power of God through the Holy Spirit is evident in their life there is no doubt as to their salvation. There should be a deep conviction in a believer's life to live differently than they did before they knew Christ. If there is no change and no conviction of the sin in a person's life than how can you know that "he has chosen" them?
My experience with the Holy Spirit has shown me that it is obvious to myself and to others when I am acting and or speaking in the power of the Holy Spirit. There is no doubt that it is the power of God in those instances. There are also times that I feel convicted about doing something or not doing something that I can't say is that obvious power of the Holy Spirit feeling but I come later to recognize that it was a personal experience with the Spirit that guided me.
No matter what as a believer in Christ we should be seeking experiences with the power of the Holy Spirit. Personally, and corporately.
