Just like the gatekeepers protected the city and the temple from anything unclean or harmful, we’re called to guard our hearts and minds (Proverbs 4:23). That means watching what we allow in through our eyes, ears, and thoughts — keeping out things that draw us away from God, and welcoming in what strengthens our faith.
In today’s church, gatekeepers can look like greeters, ushers, teachers, prayer warriors, and leaders — people who make sure God’s house is welcoming, safe, and focused on Him. Every role matters, just as it did in Nehemiah’s day.
The gatekeepers worked in shifts, side by side. That reminds us we’re not meant to stand guard alone. As a church family, we support one another, pray…
