September 25, 2026 - Truth
“It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.”
Psalms 118:8-9 NIV
As I prepare to go to a women's retreat that I have been invited to speak at, I read these words and want to start off my time with them with these verses. First, the Lord is who they should trust in. I am only a human. I cannot see their hearts or their futures, but God does. He knows all things and works all things out for good. I trust that God will direct me and guide me and that there will be something that I say that He will use to speak to the heart of someone there, but it is only His Spirit who can teach and convict. It is only the Lord that can give hope and peace.
“The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.”
1 Timothy 1:5-7 NIV
I have a heart to follow the command of love. I pray that he would create in me and every woman in attendance a pure heart and good conscience and a sincere faith. May my talk not be meaningless but lead by the Spirit of God. I will confidently affirm that the word of God is truth, but I want to ask each person to ask the Lord to give them discernment and a heart to receive whatever truths He has for them this weekend.
Thank you, Lord, for using my busy schedule to slow me down and not writing this until late so that you would get my mind where it needs to be to hear your truths.
