55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

    neither are your ways my ways,”

declares the Lord.

9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,

    so are my ways higher than your ways

    and my thoughts than your thoughts.

We will never truly comprehend the ways of God. It is beyond us. Our thoughts are limited to our human understanding, but His thoughts have no limits. His ways have no limits. That is why we must depend on Him.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

When we depend on Him and trust His ways and His word we will be able to put on His armor and be strong when we are faced with the devil's schemes. So often we are so focused on the struggles of this world and we look at things from a limited human perspective. We think that if I can just get this or do that. If I push through this one struggle, deal with this one problem. We think it is just a flesh and blood thing. But our real battle is not against this world it is against the evil spiritual forces that are trying to separate us from God His will and His people. The enemy is the one that is trying to stop you from prioritizing your personal time in prayer and bible study not you busy schedule. The enemy is the one who wants you to have an excuse to not go to church or reach out to that friend who is hurting. Or for you reach out to a friend when you are hurting. There is always a spiritual battle going on all around us. Protect yourself and stand your ground because the power of God that is uncomprehendible is living in you. If you are ever feeling week dive into a study on the Armor of God. There is a lot of great stuff out there on it. I have shared an Armor of God Prayer a couple of times. Here is a link to my old blog post that I shared it. It's a spiritual warfare prayer by Charles Stanley. It is a great way to start the day.

Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Pray in the Spirit. When you pray start off inviting the Spirit to join you. To direct you. Because only through the Spirit can you pray according to God's will. And I too ask that you "Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel"
