ISAIAH 57:15-59:21
PHILIPPIANS 1:1-26
PSALM 71:1-24
PROVERBS 24:9-10
Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; 24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.
Those of you who know me well know that I am ready to be with Jesus this very second. In fact when I pray come Lord Jesus it is usually with selfish motives. I look forward to eternity with great excitement and anticipation. So, I too say that "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." But I am still here so that means that "If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me." I want to live my life so that it matters for the Kingdom. I am grateful that God has given me so many ways to help other to "progress and joy in the faith". Writing this blog, leading youth group, organizing our women's conference and all the random opportunities that He give me to point others to Him.
Lord, I know that my time on this earth has already been determined by you and even as I long to be with you. I want to walk with you according to your plan and purpose for my life. So, I pray Lord that you would help me to better see the opportunities that you give me to help others to progress in their faith. May you Holy Spirit be always present and prompting me in thought word and deed that I might be the reason why others "boasting in Christ Jesus will abound". May I not be so busy looking forward to coming home to you that I miss out on why you still have me here. Amen
