DANIEL 6:1-28

DANIEL 9:1-27

2 CHRONICLES 36:22-23

EZRA 1:1-11

1 CHRONICLES 3:17-19

Daniel 6:4 At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.

I just started reading a book about the biblical role of elders in the church and this is the standard that an elder should have. Also, elders will find themselves under attack. People will try to find things to hold against you. That is why you need to be like Daniel with no corruption, trustworthy, without corruption. It also talks about the importance about your love for Jesus and obedience to Him is most important. If that is your focus then everything else comes naturally.

Daniel 6:5 Finally these men said, “We will never find any basis for charges against this man Daniel unless it has something to do with the law of his God.”

The satraps could not find anything against Daniel so they had to use His faith against Him. When they had the king create the decree prohibiting Daniels ability to worship God, He didn't take it personally or get angry and he didn't give up. He trusted God and continued to put Him first. The attack of the enemy didn't faze him one bit. That is how church leadership can persevere in service. When it's all about God and not about you it doesn't matter what anyone else says or does.

Daniel 6:20 When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?”

Daniel's obedience to God and integrity influenced the king. The king loved, respected and valued Daniel and did not want to do what he did. Daniels calm and trusting response to enter into a deadly situation was a witness to everyone. He had seen through Daniel the power and faithfulness of God and knew that if anyone could be saved it was Daniel because his God was greater than any other God he has ever known. Our love for Jesus, obedience to Him and integrity in living like Him especially when under attack and in danger will be taken notice of and will influence the hearts of others. When people see Christ consistently in our lives they will come to know about God.

Daniel 6:23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.
