2Peter 3:1 This is my second letter to you, dear friends, and in both of them I have tried to stimulate your wholesome thinking and refresh your memory.

Isn't this what we should all be doing for each other? Stimulate wholesome thinking and refresh memories of the truths of Jesus.

^{2Peter 3:8} But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. ⁹ The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.

I love that the Lord is patient and He doesn't want anyone to be destroyed. It makes me realize that I need to be patient also. As much as I would love for Jesus to return in my lifetime and I am ready to go be with Him today, I need to be patient and trust Him. If He doesn't return, then it is not time. If I must remain here, then there is still work to be done. The best thing I can do is to be willing and ready to respond to every opportunity that He gives me to join Him in His work. That is what I should do.
