MARK 13:1-23
MATTHEW 24:1-25
LUKE 21:5-24
MARK 13:24-31
MATTHEW 24:26-35
LUKE 21:25-33
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
This reminded me of a conversation I had with a teacher on the last women's retreat I was on. I had said that Jesus won't return until everyone that He has chosen has come to faith. She had expressed that she does not believe in predestination and that is why she does not pray come Lord Jesus. She has family that have not accepted Christ and believes that anyone can be saved. This verse reminded me of that because I know that it is part of why I believe that Jesus won't come till everyone has been saved that He has predestined. This and Romans 8: 29-30
Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
I don't have to be able to understand how predestination works to believe it is true because it is in God's word. I know it is a topic that is greatly debated, and I could be wrong. Jesus tells us in Matthew that the end will not come until there is not a place on the earth that has not heard the gospel. That would be necessary to assure that everyone as an opportunity to accept Christ and to be sure that all that He has called are received into the body of Christ.
I guess if I am wrong and Roman's 8 means something other than what it says the fact that the gospel must reach the entire world is still vital because everyone needs to have heard the message to be able to make a decision about it.
Either way I am still comfortable and confident in praying Come Lord Jesus because I believe that He is sovereign and all-knowing and will come at the exact right time with everything is just as it needs to be. Which would include every person who is to be in Christ being there. When I pray Come Lord Jesus I am also praying Your will be done. As I know that He will only come in accordance with the will of the Father. He the Father and the Spriit are one and together knows exactly when to bring on the end.
So, Come Lord Jesus according to Your will and in Your timing. By the power of the Father through the sacrifice of the Son and under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Amen

mumus!!
The only thoughts that is coming to mind for this particular scripture is I don’t often say “come Jesus come” as I believe like that woman you had a conversation with, in that, I’m not comfortable knowing that there are people that I love that have not yet accepted Christ. So for me to pray come Jesus come bothers me to the core because I want my loved ones to know Jesus, so that they will join me in eternity.
I’m also in agreement with some of the comments that you made that God’s timing is perfect and he will come at the right time.
I am also a firm believer in that we will never know when that time…
