October 28, 2026 -Where I Belong
“Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.”

Hall of fame of faith. I want to be someone who walks in the same way those who are mentioned in this chapter walked. They did more than believe. They had faith and trust that was demonstrated in their actions. And because of that faith they knew what they had to look forward to.
I know that I long for my heavenly home. When I get to feeling overwhelmed with the evil in the world. When I get tired for all the work and activity that seems futile. When I am frustrated with the things that I need to deal with on a daily basis. I know that there is hope.
In fact, as I was praying this morning was I pouring all these things out before God and then I was comforted in the need to pray, "I know all of this is temporary." I trust that God will get me through every difficulty and I have a deep longing for the day when I will be home and get to walk and talk with all of these great people of faith that we read about today and others that I have studied and that I have known in my lifetime who have gone home before me.
