Psalms 103:1-2, 8-14, 21-22 NIV

[1] Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

[2] Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—

I did not spend enough time praising God and praying today. It is a really busy time at work so it was difficult to break free. I am glad that I did read this morning and picked out these verses so that tonight as I go back a read them, I am reminded to Praise the Lord!

[8] The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. [9] He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; [10] he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.

After praise comes thanksgiving and I am so very thankful that the Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in love. So glad that he does not treat me as I deserve.

Which leads into confession. Lord I have not put you first in my life today. I have allowed my selfishness to keep me from putting you before things of this world that would distract me from you.

[11] For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; [12] as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. [13] As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; [14] for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

[21] Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will. [22] Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion. Praise the Lord, my soul.

Amen and Amen Praise the Lord! He deserves to be first. He is worthy of all my praise but thankfully He does not depend on my praise. He is the almighty who created all things, knows all things, can do all things and is in all things so my day of not putting Him first doesn't hinder Him but boy does it hinder me! I sure can tell the difference in me on days like today.
