Colossians 1:3-6 NIV

[3] We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, [4] because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people— [5] the faith and love that spring from the hope stored up for you in heaven and about which you have already heard in the true message of the gospel [6] that has come to you. In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world—just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.

Imagine being known for your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for God's people. A faith and love that we can only have because of the hope that we have in the gospel. The Gospel that by the power of God through the faith and love of His people has spread throughout the world. I had a meeting with a couple LDS (Mormon) members who told me their belief that when the Apostles died that the Church of Christ died with them and that the Mormon church is the "restored" church of Jesus Christ. A church that had died would not have spread through the whole world. And the message of the Gospel has never changed.

Colossians 1:21-23 NIV

[21] Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. [22] But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— [23] if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

The Gospel starts with the understanding that we are all sinners and our sin separates us from God. But we have been reconciled through Jesus so that we are no longer seen in our sin. I pray that God would give me the words and opportunity to speak the truth of the Gospel to these lost young people.
